A : Semi permanent make up, otherwise known as SPMU, is a form of tattooing called micro pigmentation that involves implanting pigment into the skin. Our goal is to create the most natural look possible, enhancing the clients features – however if you’re after more of a ‘make up’ look this is possible! It’s called semi permanent make up as the ink will slowly fade out of your skin overtime so colour boosts are required to maintain the shape and colour.
A : Depending on your skin type, medications and lifestyle, the pigment can last from 1-3 years before needing a touch up. We do advise you have colour boosts every 12-18 months to keep your semi permanent make up looking fresh.
Our most popular style is the ombre brow – it’s great for all skin types, is super versatile and can be tailored suit the individual. However, if it’s not quite the style you’re after we offer other options to cater to a fuller or more natural look. If you’re not sure, reach out and let’s get you booked in for a free consultation to discuss your options!
We do not touch up other artists work, however we do offer correctional work and cover ups. Please note if you have previous work or removal, no matter how much pigment is left, we will need to assess this before booking you in to ensure you are eligible. In some cases we may advise having saline or laser removal before adding any more pigment into the skin. Correctional work/cover ups may require 3 sessions, please get in touch if you have previous work you’d like to sort out and we can see what’s best for you!
During your appointment you will read and sign a consultation form, once that’s been checked over and approved your treatment will begin. We’ll discuss what you want as well as what is possible in terms of a healed result, then we will map and pre-draw your brows using the golden ratio to find the best brow shape for your face, measuring to make sure they are as symmetrical as possible. Any tweaks are made during the mapping stage and once you’re 100% happy with the pre-draw we discuss pigment choice. After a final check we begin the tattooing process. Once completed you will be given an aftercare kit, talked through your aftercare and healing process and book in your included 6-12 week touch up appointment.
We will design your brows together, so your opinions and desires will be taken into account. However, it is important to note that the majority of people don’t have very symmetrical faces – which is totally normal! This just means that when we map them out we aim to achieve the best shape and placement for your features, which may be different to what you’re used to. We advise you take into account our professional advice as much as possible and trust the process!
Whilst semi permanent make up is great for almost anyone, there are some medical conditions or medications that may prevent you from having the treatment. Before booking you in we will ensure you are eligible, some health conditions or medications may need to be clear for a period of time, some may require a doctors note to go ahead and unfortunately some may mean you are unable to have the treatment at all. Your health and safety is our priority, if you’re unsure whether you are eligible get in touch and let’s chat!
Consultations are free and optional! If you’re unsure whether you’re suitable, not sure what you’d like or just have some questions we would advise you book a consultation – these can be done in person or virtually and only take around 15 minutes!
Patch tests are compulsory for all semi permanent make up treatments and must be done a minimum of 48 hours prior.
Our price list can be found at the top of this page, prices include your first appointment and your 6-12 week touch up/perfection visit. Annual colour boosts will be priced according to the time left between each session. A £50 deposit is required for all appointments, this will be deducted from the total amount payable at the end of your session.
Upon booking you will receive a confirmation email that has details of how to prepare for your appointment as well as things to avoid prior. The main things to note are to discontinue acids, exfoliants, chemicals, retinols or harsh facial treatments 4 weeks prior and avoid any blood thinners including medication and caffeine 48 hours prior. Staying hydrated and avoiding sun exposure the two weeks before is also important. Your aftercare will be discussed thoroughly with you after your treatment, but the main things will be keeping them sweat free, clean, dry and out of the sun for 10-14 days. You will be provided with a foam cleanser and balm in your aftercare kit to aid healthy healing.
